I was commissioned to design a Facebook cover for Berita Harian, ensuring alignment with the publication’s tone and identity.
The brief called for a clean yet impactful design, with green as the dominant colour and a prominently displayed logo. It also required visuals representing both regional and international news, including iconic Singapore landmarks and a globe to symbolise global reporting. Keeping these elements in mind, I proposed a dynamic illustration that encapsulates the essence of breaking news while maintaining an engaging composition. The layout’s kept pretty central, with the logo right in the middle, so it grabs attention and anchors the whole design.
The core idea was to create a fresh illustration that reflects a fast-paced and reliable news platform. The aim was to highlight Berita Harian’s strong social presence and its role as a trusted news source within the Malay community, while ensuring the visual style remains relevant and engaging to a younger audience.
